Theatre Westminster will present Red Herring Feb. 24-27 in Beeghly Theater.
The cold war play by Pennsylvania playwright Michael Hollinger covers "three love stories, a murder mystery, and a nuclear espionage plot in a noir comedy about marriage and other explosive devices."
It's 1952: America's on the verge of the hydrogen bomb, Eisenhower's on the campaign trail, and I Love Lucy's on Monday nights. Senator Joe McCarthy's daughter was just engaged to a Soviet spy and Boston detective Maggie Pelletier has to determine who dumped the dead guy in the harbor-or lose out on a honeymoon in Havana.
Curtain time Thursday-Saturday is 7:30 p.m.; Sunday's matinee is at 2:30 p.m. Reservations can be made online by following the "ticket reserve" link at www.westminster.edu/drama or by calling the Box Office at (724) 946-7241. Prices for general admission adults are $10, and senior citizens and non-Westminster students are $7.
The production is under the direction of John Gresh, Westminster adjunct instructor of theatre and a certified associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework.
