Westminster College will host The Cleveland Duo and James Umble in concert Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
Violinist Stephen Warner and his pianist wife Carolyn are The Cleveland Duo and are members of the Cleveland Orchestra. Classical saxophonist James Umble performs regularly with the orchestra. The trio has been performing together to national and international acclaim since 1993.
The trio, while firmly entrenched in the world of traditional chamber music, is blazing trails with its sound combination and its unique programming style. Their repertoire includes new works as well as selections by Maurice Ravel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ernest Bloch, and tangos by David Morgan and Astor Piazzolla.
