Ariel Mickle, a senior music performance major at Westminster College, will perform a recital Sunday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Her program includes pieces by Purcell, Michael Head, and Brahms, as well as sets by Charles T. Griffes and W.A. Mozart.  The program includes a duet with Westminster alumnus Sean Taylor.  Mickle will be accompanied on piano by Jeff Wachter.

Mickle is a daughter of Ruth Ann and the late Bradley Mickle of Warren, and is a graduate of Warren Area High School.  She has performed for several years in the Warren area, where she studied under mezzo-soprano Rosalind Hupp, formerly of the Metropolitan Opera.

While at Westminster, she has been a member of the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir.  She also starred in the opera production "Hansel and Gretel," as well as in the Opera Workshop's operetta "When the Lights Go Down."  Mickle has also served as the assistant musical director for "Children of Eden" and musical director for "Godspell," two chapel dramas.  She has participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Tri-State Competition for the past two years.

The event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact the Westminster College Music Department at (724) 946-7270.
