Mardi Gras is coming to Westminster College Friday, Feb. 4, from 6-8 p.m. in the Witherspoon Rooms in the McKelvey Campus Center.
This year's royalty is Queen Tara Timpano, a senior sociology-criminal justice major from Rochester, and King Eric Cortez, a junior biology major from Ellwood City.
This family-oriented event features carnival booths, caricaturists, a balloon artist, a strolling magician, and mask decorating, as well as the king and queen giving beads to all. The event is followed by fireworks at 8:05 p.m.
Wayne Hoffman, an illusionist, will perform to a college-oriented audience at 8:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.
The event is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association with contributions from the Campus Programming Committee. For more information, contact Laura Zorch, a junior elementary education major from Greensburg and publicity chair of the Student Alumni Association, zorchle@westminster.edu.
