Westminster College junior philosophy major Michael Gorman was one of eight presenters at the Duquesne University Undergraduate Philosophy Conference April 10.
Gorman's paper, "The Technology of Discipline: A Discussion of Analytic Philosophy of Technology and Michel Foucault," examined Foucault's Discipline and Punish through the lens of modern philosophy of technology.
The research was advised by Dr. David Goldberg, Westminster associate professor of philosophy, who also attended the conference.
Gorman is a son of Mary Novak of Avonmore and a graduate of Kiski Area High School.
