College to Showcase Student Research and Creative Accomplishments

Posted on Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Westminster College's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will host the Undergraduate Research and Arts Celebration Friday and Saturday, April 23-24.

This showcase for student creative and research efforts will feature the work of nearly 100 Westminster students, who will present posters, oral presentations, documentaries, art projects, and performances over the two days.

"An important goal of Westminster College is to create a culture in which intellectual activities such as research and creativity are valued," said Dr. Terri Lenox, Westminster associate professor of computer science and co-director of the Drinko Center. "The Undergraduate Research and Arts Celebration allows students to showcase their work and allows the community to celebrate their work."

Posters will be on display in the Witherspoon Maple Room of the McKelvey Campus Center in two sessions at 3:10 and 4:20 p.m. Friday.

Presentations and performances are scheduled Saturday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in McKelvey Campus Center and Thompson-Clark Hall.

The Westminster College Honors Convocation begins at 11:30 a.m. in Orr Auditorium.

All events are free and open to the public.
