Opera Westminster to Present "Love, Lies and Deception" April 17

Opera Westminster will present "Love, Lies and Deception" Saturday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.

Westminster students and guest artists will perform scenes from some of the best-loved operas, including Carmen, Faust, Cosi Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, Die Entführung, L'elisir d'amore, Traviata, and Die Fledermaus.

The event is coordinated by stage director Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz, Westminster associate professor of music.

Assisting in the production are Westminster faculty Mihai Valcu as orchestra conductor and Marie Libal-Smith as accompanist. An orchestra of Westminster faculty, students, and guest musicians will provide instrumental support.

Guest artists include tenor Daniel Byerly of Butler, Katherine Copland of Beaver Falls, and the Shenango Valley Chorale under the direction of Edgar Groves.
