Wind Ensemble to Present Mid-Winter Concert

The Westminster College Wind Ensemble will present a Mid-Winter Concert Friday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig, associate professor, director of bands, and chair of Westminster's Department of Music, is an auditioned group of more than 40 students who perform a variety of music for winds and percussion.

The program for the evening includes Mark Camphouse's "Movement for Rosa," a tribute to Rosa Parks; "Moorside Suite" by Gustav Holst; "Poetic Intermezzo" by James Barnes; Kathryn Salfelder's "Cathedrals;" "Commando March" by Samuel Barber; and John Cheetham's "Concertino for Brass Quintet and Wind Ensemble," featuring Westminster's Faculty Brass Quintet.

The quintet includes Westminster adjunct music faculty Robert Antonucci on tuba; Rob Cole on horn; Andrew Erb and Terry Gale on trumpet; and Robert Matchett on trombone.
