Westminster College will celebrate Homecoming with a variety of activities Oct. 9-11.
The annual Homecoming parade will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. on Market Street. This year's parade theme is "TV Land," featuring classic television shows and characters. Participants include the Westminster Titan Marching Band, the Wilmington Area High School marching band, local Scout troops, campus organizations' floats, Homecoming king and queen candidates, and local community groups and businesses. New this year is the "Anything with Wheels" category. Entries will be judged by the Westminster Class of 1959.
Other public events scheduled include: an alumni volleyball game Friday at 7 p.m. in the Buzz Ridl gymnasium; a worship service in Wallace Memorial Chapel Saturday at 9:30 a.m., led by the Class of 1959; story time in the Williamson Community Room of McGill Library Saturday at 10 a.m.; Faculty Fair, an opportunity for casual conversation with faculty in the Watto Faculty Commons of the McKelvey Campus Center at 11 a.m.; Career Center open house in McKelvey Campus Center at noon; presentation of the Homecoming court Saturday at 1 p.m. prior to the Westminster Titans vs. Waynesburg Yellow Jackets football game at 1:30 p.m.; women's soccer against Chatham at 2 p.m. on the soccer field; and meditation walks at the Sandy Edmiston Memorial Labyrinth at the Field Station Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Distinguished Alumni lectures, campus tours, carillon music, class reunion luncheons and dinners, presentation of alumni citations for outstanding service, and opportunities for shopping in the Titan gift shop round out the festivities.
