Trustee to Present "Get Real!" Program

Posted on Friday, September 18, 2009

Robert Jackson, Westminster College alumnus and current member of its Board of Trustees, will present "BA to CEO: Things I've Learned along the Way" at the "Get Real!" program Thursday, Oct. 1.

Jackson, CEO of the Grove City Medical Center, was once the youngest chief executive of a hospital in America. He will share how life lessons and professional experiences helped pave his way to success.

Sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, the "Get Real!" series acquaints students with life after college. It provides helpful advice on financial planning; banking; medical care; consumer and personal legal matters; apartment, auto, and house hunting; getting the most out of leisure activities; and preparing for lifelong relationships.

Each session covers a different topic and runs from 12:40-1:50 p.m. in the Witherspoon Lakeview Room. Attendance is limited to 25 students, with preference given to juniors and seniors. Two additional sessions are scheduled for the fall semester: "Investing for the Good Life," Nov. 5; and "Benefits Packages," Nov. 29.

Contact Katie Pifer, resident director, at (724) 946-7913 or e-mail GetReal@westminster.edu for additional information.
