Habitat for Humanity Chapter to Sponsor Benefit Concert Nov. 22

Posted on Friday, November 7, 2008

The Westminster College chapter of Habitat for Humanity will sponsor a benefit concert featuring The Chris Higbee Project Saturday, Nov. 22, at 8:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

Higbee, founder and fiddler of The Povertyneck Hillbillies, has now formed The Chris Higbee Project, a band that blends the talents of several diverse musicians. For a number of years, Higbee has involved himself in benefits to support charitable work.

The proceeds from the Westminster concert will support the campus chapter's spring break work trip to Biloxi, Miss. Tickets are $10 for Westminster students with ID, $20 for general admission, and $30 for reserved seats. Call the Celebrity Series box office at (724) 946-7354 for tickets.

"Doors," a nationally touring Habitat photo exhibit, will be on display in the Art Gallery adjacent to Orr Auditorium for viewing. The gallery will open at 6:30 p.m.

Contact Carey Anne M. LaSor, assistant to the Westminster chaplain and Habitat adviser, at (724) 946-7365, e-mail meyerca@westminster.edu, or visit www.ChrisHigbee.com for more information.
