Senior Computer Science Majors Present Capstone Projects

Six Westminster College senior computer science majors presented their capstone projects at the Undergraduate Student Research and Creative Accomplishment Conference April 19 at Penn State-Behrend.

Andrew Polack's topic was "NURBS Curve Interpolation of Artistic Data." Dr. John Bonomo, Westminster associate professor of computer science, is his adviser. Polack earned the first runner-up prize in the Computer Science Division.

Christopher Dymond and William Maxwell presented "The Effect of Type and Timing of Interruptions on Resumption Lag." Their faculty adviser is Dr. Terri Lenox, Westminster College associate professor of computer science.

Mark Gordon and Justin Sedlak presented "Intelligent Risk Agent Using an Artificial Neural Network and Temporal Difference Learning." Their faculty adviser is Bonomo.

Jacob Romigh's presentation was "Consistent Pseudorandom Objective-Based Level Design for Games Having Minimal Environment Data in Hard Disk Space." Bonomo is his adviser.

Joining the students at the conference were Bonomo, Lenox, and Dr. David Shaffer, Westminster associate professor of computer science.

The conference included students from 10 colleges and universities in northwestern Pennsylvania who presented research in a variety of fields from biology, physics, and mathematics to history, psychology, and English.
