Westminster College's Black Student Union (BSU) will host its second Spring Fashion Extravaganza Saturday, April 12, at 8 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The show is open to the public.

Tickets are available at the door: $1 for Westminster College students and children under age 12; $2 for all others. Proceeds from the show will benefit BSU's Kids Fund, which provides Christmas gifts to "adopted" children and their families.

Reesha Jackson, a junior biochemistry major from Pittsburgh, is director of the show. "Rather than a strictly runway-style fashion show, this year's event is portrayed in a series of scenes with customers in need of help with their style," she said. "The shop owner assists them with his keen fashion sense and displays by his live models."

Assistant directors are sociology-criminal justice majors Alexis Harris, a senior from Youngstown, Ohio, and Tra-Linn Scott, a sophomore from Pittsburgh.

Sharing host duties for the event are senior business administration majors MacArthur Mosley from Pittsburgh and Terrence Phelps from Youngstown, Ohio.

In addition to student models, Westminster faculty, staff, and their children will participate: Dr. Neal Edman, dean of student affairs, and his daughter Carly; Jeannette Hubbard, director of diversity services, and her husband Lenny; Dr. Phyllis Kitzerow, professor of sociology; Kate, Madison, and Rachel Lunnen, daughters of Dr. Kirk Lunnen, assistant professor of psychology; Nadia Merz, daughter of Dr. Natacha Fontes-Merz, assistant professor of mathematics; and Katie and Matt Pataki, children of Dr. Sherri Pataki, assistant professor of psychology and BSU adviser.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Joselyn Parker, a 2007 Westminster alumna; and R&B artist Joel Imler.

Fashions and shoes are provided by Prime Outlets Grove City stores Jimmy-Z, Dress Barn, Rue-21, Nike, Adidas, Geoffrey Beene, Vanity Fair, and Payless; and JCPenney and Body Central from the Southern Park Mall in Youngstown, Ohio.
