Opera Westminster to Present Opera Ball

Westminster College's Opera Westminster will present "An Evening of Elegance" Saturday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center.

The gala event is presented in honor of retiring Westminster President R. Thomas Williamson and his wife, Jean. It will include a program presented by Opera Westminster students under the direction of Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz, Westminster College associate professor of music, stage director; and Mr. Mihai Valcu, Westminster College adjunct music faculty, conductor. The students will be assisted by The Seraphim Singers, a community chorus under the direction of Mr. Kris Harper, Westminster College adjunct music faculty.

Additional entertainment will be provided by Dr. Nancy DeSalvo, Westminster College associate professor and chair of the Department of Music, on piano; the Westminster Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, Westminster College associate professor of music; and other guest artists.

Music for the dance portion of the evening will be provided by the Westminster Faculty String Quartet: Elisa Kohanski, adjunct music faculty, on cello; Jonathan Moser, instructor of music, on viola; Mary Moser, adjunct music faculty, on violin; and Lucy Woodward on violin.

Two dining options are available: a full sit-down dinner with choice of entrée, dessert, and beverage; or a dessert, snack, and beverage buffet.
