Lecturer to Speak about "Finding Eudora"

Posted on Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Delores Natale, Westminster College lecturer of public relations, will present "Finding Eudora" at Faires Faculty Forum on Wednesday, March 5, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater in the McKelvey Campus Center.

Natale will discuss her research on Southern writer Eudora Welty and the route she took to "finding" her. She will explore the connection between Welty's photography in the 1930s and her writing in subsequent years.

The presentation will feature readings of Welty's work by Westminster College faculty from the South, including: Dr. James Perkins, professor of English, and his wife, Jane; Dr. Virginia Tomlinson, associate professor of sociology and director of Westminster's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning; Dr. Barbara Faires, professor of mathematics; Dr. Matthew Sivils, assistant professor of English; Dr. Peter Smith, assistant professor of chemistry, and his wife, Erin, assistant professor and assistant librarian.

Faculty Forum was established in 1990 by Faires during her term as Dean of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Faculty members from all disciplines volunteer to present lectures on their current research, artistic productions, and/or scholarship of teaching and learning. Each forum presents new ideas with innovative lecture techniques.

Natale, who has been with Westminster since 2001, earned an undergraduate degree and a master's from Westminster.
