Westminster College Promotes Eight Faculty

Eight Westminster College faculty recently received promotions.

Dr. David L. Barner was promoted to professor of broadcast communications. He is chair of the Department of Communication Studies, Theatre, and Art and has been with Westminster since 1981. He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from Shippensburg University and his doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz was promoted to associate professor of music. She has been with Westminster since 2001. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware and her doctorate at the University of Maryland. She can be reached at (724) 946-6045 or e-mail bentzah@westminster.edu.

Dr. Helen M. Boylan was promoted to associate professor of chemistry. She has been with Westminster since 2001. She earned her undergraduate degree from Westminster College and her doctorate from Duquesne University. She can be reached at (724) 946-6293 or e-mail boylanhm@westminster.edu.

Dr. Nancy J. DeSalvo was promoted to associate professor of music. The chair of the Department of Music, she has been with Westminster since 2000. She earned her undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University, her master's from Manhattan School of Music and her doctorate from The Cleveland Institute of Music. Dr. William J. Evans was promoted to professor of education. He has been with Westminster since 2001. He earned his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University, his master's from Youngstown State University and his doctorate from Kent State University. Dr. Bethany F. Hicok was promoted to associate professor of English. She has been with Westminster since 2001. D. Scott Renninger was promoted to professor of physical education. Chair of the Department of Physical Education and head tennis coach, he has been with Westminster since 1978.
