Dr. Carolyn Cuff, Westminster College professor of mathematics, recently attended an American Statistical Association conference in Salt Lake City.
Cuff, who worked on the original GAISE report, was part of an invited panel, "Implementing GAISE in our classrooms." GAISE stands for Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education.
"The guidelines were recently approved by the American Statistical Association. The panel was invited to discuss how the guidelines can be implemented in various types of colleges and universities and our successes with the implementation," Cuff said.
Cuff serves as representative for the Statistics Education section to the ASA Board of Governors and the joint ASA-MAA (Math Association of America) committee. Both are national committees.
Cuff, who has been a professor of mathematics since 1989, earned her undergraduate degree from Westminster College and her M.S. and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.
