Westminster College announces several personal enrichment and leisure courses for community residents. Continuing Education classes and seminars are non-credit and are open to all interested individuals. Formal admission to Westminster College is not required.

Fitness classes will take place in the Dance Studio on the lower level of Old 77.
Line Dancing classes are scheduled Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. on March 8, 15, 22, and 29. Country Line Dancing is fun and fitness rolled into one. You can learn the basic steps, plus the Electric Slide, Boot Scootin' Boogie, and more.
Low Impact Body Toning classes are scheduled on Thursdays from 4:45-5:30 p.m. on February 1, 8, 15, 22 and March 1. The classes are designed to improve your fitness level with a combination of stretching and fat burning aerobics.
Pilates classes are scheduled on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. on February 1, 8, 15, 22 and March 1. The classes are designed to show that the only equipment needed to reach optimum health is the body itself. The Pilates system offers a complete workout exercising just the main muscle groups and the weaker, less-used muscles as well. Beginners or experienced people welcome.
Computer classes are designed to meet the needs of the beginner to the accomplished user and are held in room 214 of Patterson Hall.
Computer Basics runs Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 20 and 22, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This course is a workshop for students to be introduced to the computer in a relaxed atmosphere. Learn what they are, how they work, and what you use them for. The workshop is designed to promote comfort and confidence with the computer.
Introduction to Word classes are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 27 and March 1, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The workshop is designed to be an introduction into word processing which includes creating and saving documents, letters and envelopes. Confidence will be gained in a relaxed supportive environment.
Internet workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Students will learn to surf the World Wide Web to find almost anything they need. Learn common Internet terminology, Websites, browsers and how they work to your benefit.
E-mail workshop is scheduled for Thursday, March 8, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Learn how to keep in touch with friends and family every day on your computer. It's quick, easy, and the most cost-efficient way to stay connected to all your loved ones. This hands-on workshop will introduce students to communicating via e-mail.
PowerPoint classes are scheduled Monday and Wednesday, March 26 and 28, from 7-9 p.m. Tap into the power of the world's most versatile presentation software to create effective, professional looking presentations. Learn how to include clip art, graphs, tables, and charts.
Computer Care workshops are scheduled Tuesdays and Thursday, March 13, 15, and 20 from 7-9 p.m. In this class, students will learn how to understand the basics of computer maintenance that can help their computers work better, run faster, and last longer. RAM, megabytes, defrag and other computer terminology will no longer be a mystery.
Microsoft Publisher workshops are scheduled Monday and Wednesday, March 19 and 21, from 7-9 p.m. In this class, students will learn how to use the flexible, easy program to create professional publications, including calendars, flyers, business cards, newsletters, brochures, and more.
Microsoft Word workshops are scheduled Tuesday - Thursday, March 20-22, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of the Windows operating environment, as well as further introduce Microsoft Word. Students will learn to create professional letters and simple documents using tools such as copy and paste, setting font type and size, paragraph formatting, tables, tabs, headers and footers, inserting graphics and word art, and more.
Web Design and Development workshops are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday, April 17 and 19, from 7-9 p.m. This course will guide the student through the process of effectively designing and assembling a Web site using the HTML language along with graphics and Web Technology.
Microsoft Excel workshops are scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays, April 23, 25, 30, and May 2, from 7-9 p.m. This course offers a basic outline of creating spreadsheets: entering data, editing and formatting, and using formulas for calculations. Learn how to get rid of your paper clutter and set up budgets, track expenses, organize information, and much more.
Two language enrichment courses are also scheduled and will take place in the Drinko Conference Room on the second floor of the McKelvey Campus Center.
Conversation Italian is a language enrichment course that is scheduled for Tuesday - Thursday, April 10-12, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is a great introductory class for beginners. Whether planning a vacation or exploring your heritage, this class will introduce you into the exciting world of Italian.
Conversation Italian II classes are scheduled for Tuesdays - Thursdays, April 24-26, and May 1-3, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Based on the popularity of the introductory course, this language class follows up at an intermediate level. You can continue the adventure and expand your vocabulary.
