History Professor Delivers Paper at Conference

Posted on Tuesday, December 5, 2006

Dr. Timothy Cuff, Westminster College assistant professor of history, recently attended the Social Science History Association meeting in Minneapolis where he presented his paper, "Takin' It to the Streets: One Person's Quest for a Wider Audience for Anthropometric History."

Cuff's paper dealt with the issue of dissemination of historical research in non-academic/non-specialist settings and offered suggestions to fellow researchers planning to do so. His paper was written and delivered as part of the conference's "Audiences and Publics" theme. Cuff also served as a discussant on another panel, "African-American History: Education and Living Standard."

The Social Science History Association is a gathering of historians, economists, geographers, political scientists, sociologists, and demographers who use social science methodologies to study the past.

Cuff, who has been with Westminster College since 2000, earned his undergraduate degree from Westminster College, master's from Bowling Green State University, and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
