Two Westminster College music education majors will perform their capstone recitals Friday, Dec. 1., at 7 p.m.
Marie Gott is a daughter of John and Joann Gott of Erie and a graduate of McDowell High School. Gott will sing: "Modere" by Maurice Ravel; "Visions Fugitives" by Serge Prokofieff; "Croquembouches" by Claude Delvincort; and "Fantasie sur des motifs du Freischutz" by Jerome Savar. Gott will be accompanied by Jeff Wachter on piano and by Westminster junior Craig Dressler on organ. Gott is from the studio of Janet Kane. She sings soprano with the chamber singers and is involved in concert choir. Gott is an active member of Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), and is the president of American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
Anna Long is a daughter of Michael Long and Maryann J. Long of Youngsville and a graduate of Youngsville High School. Long will perform on the saxophone: "Les Nuit D'Ete" by Hector Berlioz; "Pie Jesu" by Gabriel Faure; "Mesicku Nanebi Hlubokem" by Antonin Dvorak; "Three Browning Songs" by Amy Beach; "Morgen!" by Richard Strauss; "Plum Pudding" by Leonard Bernstein; and "Over the Rainbow" by Harold Arlen. Long will be accompanied by Westminster junior Sheila Barnhart on piano. Long is from the studio of James Flowers and Lou Colella. She is involved in the marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, jazz band, saxophone quartet, concert choir, women's choir, and bell choir. Long is an active member of Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educator's Association (PCMEA) and Mu Phi Epsilon.
