The Westminster College Celebrity Series presents "Christmas in Vienna," featuring the Vienna Choir Boys, Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 8 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.
"The Vienna Choir Boys concert is well worth a person scheduling an evening at Westminster," said Eugene DeCaprio, director of the Celebrity Series. "The Choir Boys rightly deserve their reputation for presenting expertly disciplined musical performances, and they are full of variety and charm. The musicianship and discipline of these boys will not fail to amaze our audience at this special Christmas concert. Their tour brings them straight from Carnegie Hall the night before to Westminster. We are privileged to have them."
This choir, formerly called the Wiener Sangerknaben, was founded in Austria in 1498 and continues to delight music lovers across the globe with their awesome purity of tone. Only an elite 100 boys are chosen for the choir's prestigious grammar school, where they undergo a rigorous musical and academic program.
