Student Awarded SharonSteel Scholarship

Shannon Bobbert, a Westminster College English major, was recently selected as a 2006 SharonSteel Foundation Scholar.

The competitive award for Mercer County students includes a $5,000 annual renewable scholarship and is awarded based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and involvement in extra-curricular and service activities.

"We are grateful to the SharonSteel Foundation for its support of this important scholarship program which provides opportunities for outstanding young people like Shannon to obtain an excellent undergraduate education," said Gloria Cagigas, vice president for institutional advancement.

Shannon Bobbert is a daughter of Earl and Karen Bobbert of Volant. Bobbert, a freshman, is a graduate of home schooling.
