Three Seniors to Perform Recitals

Three Westminster College seniors will perform their capstone recitals on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Allison Henley of Grove City will perform her saxophone recital at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. She is from the studios of James Flowers and Louis Colella. Henley will perform "Diversion" by Bernhard Heiden; "Sonata in G minor" by J.S. Bach; "Vocalise" by Rachmaninoff; and a piece by Glazonouv titled "Concerto." While at Westminster College, Henley has been involved in many campus ensembles including marching band, symphonic band, wind ensemble, saxophone quartet, jazz band, and concert choir. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association, the national music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, and the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa. Henley, a daughter of Donald and Nancy Henley, is a senior music education major and a graduate of Grove City Area High School.

Devin Householder of Ellwood City will perform his trumpet recital at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. He will present a wide variety of music including major works by Haydn, Henry Purcell, and Sammy Nestico. While at Westminster College, Householder has been a member of marching band, symphonic band, wind ensemble, jazz band, brass quintet, brass ensemble, concert choir, and men's choir. He has also played in the Opera Westminster orchestra pit. Off campus, Householder has played for the New Castle Playhouse and several community bands. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association, where he has served as president and advocate; the American Choral Directors Association, where he is the current historian; and the national music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, where he is serving his second term as chaplain. He is also the historian of the concert choir. Householder, a son of David and JeanMarie Householder, is a senior music education major and a graduate of Riverside High School.

Erin Davis of East Brady will perform her organ recital at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. Her program includes Pachelbel's "Praludium in D minor," Rheinberger's "Trio in E Flat Major," Langlais' "Pasticcio," and Krebs' "Vier Praeludia in F, F, C, C." While at Westminster College, Davis has helped organize organ day camps; has been a part of the women's choir; and has been a member of the national music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, where she has served as chaplain and chorister. Off campus she has served for the past two years as an organist at Westfield Presbyterian Church in New Castle, along with being the current organist of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Imperial. Davis, a daughter of Tom and Barbara Davis, is a senior sacred music major and a graduate of Karns City Area High School.
