Two Westminster College student groups, Mortar Board and Kappa Delta Pi, are teaming up in November to collect new and gently used books to benefit the Beatitude House and the Sojourner House in Youngstown, Ohio.

"Collection boxes for the books are placed throughout the Westminster campus and the New Wilmington community," said Jeffrey Ammons, a senior history major from Brookfield, Ill., and public relations chair for Mortar Board. "At Westminster, boxes are located in all residence halls, the Education Department in Old Main, McGill and Mack libraries, and the information desk in the McKelvey Campus Center. In New Wilmington, boxes are located at Isaly's, Mugsies, Pizza Joe's, Sky Bank, the First National Bank and the Post Office."

Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes senior students with leadership, scholarship, and service skills. Kappa Delta Pi is an international education honor society, restricted to the top 20 percent of those students seeking teacher certification.
