"Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership, and exemplary character," said Dr. G. Samuel Lightner IV, professor of physics and advisor of the group.

Eligibility requirements include a junior or senior ranking, an academic standing in the top 35 percent of the class and distinctive leadership experience in one of the following areas: scholarship, athletics, campus or community service, social and religious activities, campus government, journalism, speech and the mass media or creative and performing arts."
