Westminster College Professor Earns License as Professional Counselor

Dr. William J. Evans, associate professor of counselor education at Westminster College, has earned national board certification and licensure as a professional counselor by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) designation is granted by the National Board of Certified Counselors to qualified candidates who have successfully completed extended graduate education, have extensive clinical counseling experience, and who have passed the national board examination.

Evans has also been issued the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.  This license permits Evans to provide individual, couple, family, and group counseling services in Pennsylvania.

Evans operates a private counseling practice, and specializes in providing services for individuals in life transitions and couples experiencing relationship difficulties.  He also provides personal and professional coaching and consultation services.  These services are geared toward assisting professionals in increasing performance in the work setting or individuals seeking to increase the quality of all areas of life.

Evans, who has been with Westminster College since 2001, earned his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University, his master's from Youngstown State University, and his Ph.D. from Kent State University.
