"The Magic Flute" tells the story of a young prince who falls in love with the portrait of a beautiful young woman, and his attempts to free her from captivity so that they might live happily ever after.
Dr. Jesse Mann, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, will play Prince Tamino, while Donna McCurdy, senior music education major from Cabot, will play the Queen of the Night.
Other members of the cast include: Brian Barett as Sarastro; Stephanie Nicholson as Pamina; Sean Taylor as the speaker; Patrick Shannon as Monastatos; Richard Leigh as Papageno; Laura Pavlot as Papagena; Sara Kimbell, Jackie Kosek, and Kate Duncan as the Three Ladies of the Queen of the Night; Ariel Mickle, Rachel Lange, and Darci Kuhlber as the Three Spirits. The Westminster College Men's Choir is featured as the priests in the temple.
Musical and Stage director is Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz, assistant professor of music at Westminster College, and accompanying on piano is Marie Libal-Smith, a member of the music faculty at Westminster.
