Westminster College Final Faculty Forum for Spring

Posted on Thursday, April 17, 2003

Dr. Alan Gittis, professor of psychology at Westminster College, will give the final Faculty Forum of the academic year Wednesday, April 30, at 11:30 a.m. in Patterson Hall room 131.

"The Science of the Art of Memento" deals with what is neurocognitively sound about the memory pathology that is central to the story.

"Christopher Nolan's film Memento works on many levels," said Gittis.  "Aside from the disorienting yet absorbing plot, its insights about the organization of mind has scientific merit."

Faculty Forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among Westminster College faculty.  Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.

Gittis earned his undergraduate degree from Temple University, and his master's and Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
