Dr. Ronald L. Gould, professor emeritus of organ and music history at Youngstown State University, will give an organ recital Monday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
Included in the program are numbers such as: "Wie schon leuchtet der Morgenstern," "Praeludium in G Minor," "Two Sonatas for Organ," "Sonata VI," "Prelue and Fague in B Minor," "Vor deinen Thron tret ich hiermit," "Canonic Study for Pedal Piano in B Major," and "Homage to Perotin."
Gould earned his undergraduate degree from North Central College, and his master's and doctorate from the School of Sacred Music in Union Theological Seminary. From 1980-85, he was the conductor of the Youngstown Symphony Opera Chorus, founder of the Youngstown Musica Sacra, an ensemble that specializes in the performance of sacred music, and toured Italy. During 2000, Gould was artist-in-residence and exchange professor at the State Conservatory, St. Petersburg, Russia.
