The Westminster College Jazz Ensemble will perform Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.
The Jazz Ensemble will perform a wide variety of jazz styles including works by classic composers Stan Kenton, Hank Levy, Thad Jones, Dizzy Gillespie and contemporary composers, Doug Beach and Bill Cunliffe.
"From swing to Latin to contemporary jazz music, you will find it here," said R. Tad Greig, director of bands at Westminster College. "It's important for our students to be exposed to a wide variety of music that comprises the jazz idiom because listeners who attend our concerts have eclectic tastes. We hope to provide something the audience will know and something new for them to enjoy."
