Sarah Plimpton, a senior music and mathematics major at Westminster College, will perform her French Horn Recital Saturday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
Plimpton's program includes "Horn Concerto #1 in E-flat, Op.11" by Richard Stauss; the second movement of the "Horn Concerto #3 in E-flat, K, 477" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; and "Sonate for Horn and Piano, Op. 17" by Ludwig van Beethoven. She will be accompanied by Dr. John Bonomo, assistant professor of computer science at Westminster College, and Susan Schoeffler, part-time music instructor at Westminster College.
While at Westminster, Plimpton has participated in the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra and Choir. She was also selected to the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band for two years, and served as a substitute for the Warren (Ohio) Philharmonic Orchestra and the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. Last year she was selected the Most Outstanding Junior Music Major. As mathematics major, she has participated in computer programming contests, the Putnam Exam contest, and the Modelling contest.
Plimpton is a daughter of Carol and Barry Plimpton, 4 Winter Place, Cherry Hill, N.J., and a graduate of Cherry Hills High School East.
