Westminster College recently hosted computer science and information systems faculty from Western Pennsylvania colleges and universities.
Educators from Gannon University, Grove City College, Penn State-Behrend, Seton Hill, Slippery Rock and Westminster gathered to discuss the needs of smaller institutions to communicate with others about their teaching and scholarship.
The fostering of inter-college communication and cooperation led to discussions about senior research projects, curriculum guidelines, sharing information about unique projects or courses, differences between computer science and computer information systems, and establishing a lecture circuit.
"The meeting was very well received, and early indications are that this will become an annual event," said Dr. David Shaffer, assistant professor of computer science.
