Westminster College Welcomes 13 New Full-Time Faculty

Westminster College welcomed 13 new faculty members for the 2000-2001 academic year:

Dr. Barry S. Bonnell, visiting professor of biology, earned his undergraduate degree and his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. He has previously taught at Arizona State University and the University of Pittsburgh, Titusville. He resides with his wife, Danuta, in New Wilmington.

Dr. Carla A. Bluhm, visiting assistant professor of psychology, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, her master's and Ph.D. from Columbia University. She has previously taught at the University of Washington, Arizona State University, Maricopa Community College, the University of Rhode Island and Columbia University. She resides in New Wilmington with her husband John Robertson, assistant professor of biology, and their daughter, Beryl.

James L. Cherney, assistant professor of speech, earned his undergraduate degree from Butler University, Indiana, and his master's from Indiana University. He is currently working on his Ph.D. dissertation, "Rhetorical Norms of Ableist Culture." He has previously taught at Indiana University and High Point School in Ann Arbor, Mich. He resides in New Wilmington with his wife Christine Bauer, and their daughter, Eleanor.

Dr. Timothy Cuff, visiting assistant professor of humanities, earned his undergraduate degree from Westminster College, a master's from Bowling Green State University, a master's and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He has previously taught at St. Vincent College, Gannon University, Washington and Jefferson College, Edinboro University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Cuyahoga Community College. He resides in New Wilmington with his wife, Carolyn, associate professor of mathematics at Westminster.

Natalie Eppelsheimer, German teaching assistant, earned her degree from Bonn University in Germany. She is a native of Rheinbrohl, Germany. She currently resides in New Wilmington.

Dr. Andrea K. Grove, assistant professor of political science, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, her master's from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, and her Ph.D. from Ohio State University. She has previously taught at the University of Vermont, and Ohio State University. She resides in New Wilmington.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Harrison, assistant professor of music, earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University, her master's from the New England Conservatory, and her Ph.D. from Stanford University. Harrison previously taught at Stanford University. She resides in New Castle.

Dr. Robin Anna-Karin Lind, assistant professor of music, earned her undergraduate degree from Albertsons College of Idaho, her master's from the University of Oregon, and her Ph.D. from the University of Utah. She previously taught at Western State College, Salt Lake Community College, the University of Utah, and several high schools in Utah. She resides in New Wilmington with her husband, Ralph Peters

Dr. Benita K. Muth, visiting assistant professor of humanities, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of the South, and her master's and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina. She has previously taught at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She currently resides in New Wilmington with her husband Michael, instructor of philosophy at Westminster.

Laurel D. Nicolas, visiting instructor of physics, earned her undergraduate degree from Lycoming College, and her master's from Slippery Rock University. She has previously taught at Lycoming College and the Pennsylvania College of Technology. She currently resides in Pittsburgh.

Dr. John C. Robertson, assistant professor of biology, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, his master's from the University of Rhode Island, and his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. He has previously taught at the University of Washington, Arizona State University, and the University of Oklahoma. He currently resides in New Wilmington with his wife, Carla Bluhm, visiting assistant professor of psychology, and their daughter, Beryl.

C. David Shaffer, assistant professor of computer science, earned his undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He has previously taught at the Pennsylvania State University at Erie, Wayne State College, Little Priest Tribal College, and the University of Pittsburgh. He has also been a consultant programmer for Erie Plating Co. and Springfield City Schools, and a network administrator for the Atomic Physics Group at the University of Pittsburgh. He currently resides in Mercer with his wife, Kathy, and their four children.

Dr. Bradley L. Weaver, instructor of broadcast communications, earned his undergraduate degree from Alderson-Broaddus College, and his master's from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. He has previously taught at Geneva College, La Roche College, Penn State University-Beaver, Robert Morris College, the Community College of Allegheny County, and the University of Kansas. He has also been a newscast producer for WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, as well as various positions in television stations in Kansas City, Clarksburg, W.Va., Washington, N.C., and Elkins, W. Va. He currently resides in Cranberry Township with his wife, Amy.
