The Titan Theatre Group at Westminster College will present “Big Fish: The Musical,” a heartfelt and visually stunning Broadway musical, at the Beeghly Theater in Westminster's Patterson Hall beginning Friday, Feb. 20.

Based on the beloved 1998 novel, “Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions” by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed 2003 film directed by Tim Burton, the musical—written by screenwriter John August—features music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

“Big Fish” tells the story of Edward Bloom—portrayed by Kole Alcorn ’26, a senior psychology and criminal justice studies major from Eau Claire, Pa.—a traveling salesman whose larger-than-life tales captivate everyone around him—especially his loving wife, Sandra—played by Braidyn Rigsbee ’29, a first-year elementary education student from New Castle, Pa.

As Edward nears the end of his life, his son Will—played by Nolan Lapikas ’28, a sophomore biology major from Sharpsville, Pa.—sets out to understand the truth behind his father’s extraordinary stories, discovering the power of imagination, legacy and love along the way.

This Westminster College production is led by director and Titan Theatre Group adviser Gloria Rigsbee, with Katie Lyons ’25 serving as music director and James Dworek as technical director.

Student leaders on the production team include choreographer Danika Davis ’27, a junior molecular biology major from Hermitage, Pa., stage manager Rae Montgomery ’27, a junior accounting major from Franklin, Pa., and costume designer Braydan Springer ’28, a sophomore music education major from West Salem, Ohio. Davis is also a member of the ensemble, and Springer is cast in multiple roles as Don Price, General Patterson and a member of the ensemble.
