Westminster College announces several personal enrichment and leisure courses this fall. Continuing Education classes and seminars are non-credit and are open to all interested individuals. Formal admission to Westminster College is not required.
Freelance Writing will focus on the necessary steps to publish novels, non-fiction books, magazine articles and greeting card messages. This five-hour course begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.
Low Impact Body Sculpting will trim and tone your muscles, while receiving a low impact cardio workout as well. This ten-hour course is scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 16-Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
Beginning and Intermediate Yoga B start where Session A left off. All exercises are designed to reduce stress and increase meditation. The five-hour courses begin Monday, Oct. 15. The intermediate class begins at 4:30 p.m. and the beginning class begins at 5:30 p.m.
Scrapbooking Course will focus on ways to document your personal history through pictures without a shoebox. This course is scheduled Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 16 and 18, from 6-8 p.m.
Genealogy is designed to give you the tools to help find ancestors, and includes researching a specific area, using Pennsylvania as an example. This three-hour course begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.
Dress for Success will take a fun look at how to dress and look professional on the job or job interview. This two-hour course begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
E-Mail for Seniors will examine all about using e-mail, including creating messages, sending attachments, using the address book, and more. This two-hour class begins at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Cyber Seniors: How to Surf the Net is a class designed for seniors who wish to know what the Internet is and how to use it. This two-hour class begins at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17.
MS Publisher will cover how to create calendars, flyers, business cards, newsletters and more. This is an upper level class, and is intended for those who are comfortable using the computer. This class is scheduled for Monday and Wednesday, Oct. 25 and 25, from 6-8 p.m.
Women and Religion will explore the ways historians of religion, theologians, and biblical scholars have sought to answer questions and challenges being posed to traditional religious systems after the radical shifts in gender, sexual, and political consciousness of the last 150 years. This three-hour class begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
Babysitting Skills offers young people, ages 13 and up, the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in caring for children. This three-hour course begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
