Desiree Henry, a senior broadcast communications major at Westminster College, recently won "Overall Commercial Model" at the 34th annual Millie Lewis American Modeling and Talent Convention in Florida.

Last year Henry was chosen one of the 17 winners from among the 300 auditioners in a Pittsburgh competition run by Applause International. Henry went on to Orlando, and was among the 775 contestants who performed in front of 73 agents and casting directors from major international markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Tokyo, Paris, and Milan.

In addition to best "Overall Commercial Model," Henry earned several other first and third-place awards including, TV Commercial, Photography, Monologue, and Spokes Model competition.

"I was called by a New York director to audition for a commercial, but I told him that I wanted to finish school first," said Henry. "I can't just go on a 24-hour notice to an audition in New York, but it might be something to consider after I graduate."

Henry is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Henry, 222 Wallula Ave., Butler, and a graduate of Butler Area High School.
