Dr. Jennifer M. DiLalla, visiting assistant professor of English at Westminster College, will continue Westminster's Faculty Forum, Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 11:45 a.m. in 311 Patterson Hall.
DiLalla's talk, "Teaching in the Small College Exchange Program: A Semester in Ecuador," will center on her experiences in the study abroad program sponsored by St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, N.C., where she taught for three years.
"At St. Andrews, we had three study-abroad programs where a faculty member would travel with a group of students for a full semester," said DiLalla. "We traveled to Brunnenburg, Italy, Beijing, China, and Cuenca, Ecuador. I was asked to give the talk because Westminster's study-abroad program is different from this semester-long model."
Faculty Forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among Westminster College faculty. Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.
DiLalla earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and her master's and Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact DiLalla at (724) 946-7351 or e-mail dilalljm@westminster.edu.
