Employees recognized for achieving milestone anniversaries

Westminster College honored 39 employees with a combined total of 704 years of service during its annual employee recognition luncheon. Current and retired employees gathered on May 18 in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center to honor the service milestones and retirements.

Westminster College retirees include Suzanne Carter Barner, compensation and benefits manager, who began her Westminster career in 1990; James Dafler, director of athletics, who joined Westminster in 1989; Dr. Charlene Klassen Endrizzi, professor of education, who joined the faculty in 1993; Dr. Deborah Mitchell, professor of English and film studies, who joined the faculty in 1992; and Diana Reed, lecturer in the School of Education, who began her Westminster career in 1990.

Other honorees included:

40 years of service - Kimberlee Christofferson, director of human resources

35 years of service - Steven Connell, grounds supervisor, and Shaun Toomey, head athletic trainer

30 years of service – Retiree Mitchell and Dr. James Rhoads Jr., professor of political science

25 years of service – Dr. Joseph Balczon, associate professor of biology; Cheryl Gerber, director of financial aid; Brian Schultz, print shop manager; Carmelina Shockey, campus mailroom supervisor; Milagros Swerdlow, lecturer in Spanish; Diane Ubry, Office of the President, executive assistant and Board of Trustees secretary; and Linda Wilson, alumni engagement coordinator

20 years of service – Dr. Jeffrey Bersett, professor of Spanish; Dr. Colleen Merrick, associate professor of communication studies; Stanton Fleming, user services team lead; Lynn Foltz, systems analyst for enrollment management; Dr. Patrick Krantz, associate professor of environmental science/director of the Outdoor Lab; Erin Smith, chief information officer/associate professor; Janet Smith, director of financial services; and Dr. Peter Smith, professor of chemistry

15 years of service – Dr. Michael Aleprete Jr., professor of political science; Andy Changoway, project manager/infrastructure engineer; Samuel DiVitto, Department of Athletics equipment manager; Betsy Hildebrand, director of communications; Timothy McNeil, head track & field coach, head cross country coach; and Angela Richards, student accounts coordinator

10 years of service — Gina Carrier, director of student financial services; Faith Craig, director of disability services; John Garrison, associate professor/serials and e-resources librarian; Nathaniel LaRiccia, assistant athletic director for media relations; Kevin Siroki, head men’s basketball coach; Adam Silvis, custodian; and Linda Thomas, executive assistant for the Office of Student Affairs
