Westminster musicians to perform at conference

Two Westminster College student musicians have been selected to perform with the Collegiate Honors Band at the upcoming Collegiate Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Eastern Regional Conference.

Emily LaMark and Madaline Matejka will join other musicians Feb. 17-19 in Baltimore for the conference. To be considered, LaMark and Matejka submitted live audition recordings.

LaMark is a senior trombonist from Hickory, Pa., majoring in molecular biology and music as a second major. She is a graduate of Fort Cherry High School.

Matejka is a junior flutist from Aliquippa, Pa., majoring in music education. She is a graduate of Hopewell Senior High School.

The guest conductor for the Collegiate Honors Band performance will be Dr. Carolyn A. Barber, the Ron and Carol Cope Professor of Music and director of bands at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music.
