WACO, Texas – Westminster College senior defensive end Brayden Thimons (Natrona Heights, PA / Highlands) was selected to the 2021 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches' All-America Teams.

Thimons, a Second Team selection, is the program’s first Division III honoree and first overall since 1992 (LB Matt Raich). He is just the 11th Titan ever to earn AFCA All-America honors. Thimons, a two-time All-PAC First Team selection, was named the 2021 PAC Defensive Player of the Year. He was also tabbed a D3football.com All-Region First Team.

Thimons led the conference in tackles for a loss (16.0) and finished second in sacks (9.0). He also led the league in tackles with 65 (29 solo) among defensive linemen, to go along with an interception return for a touchdown and two blocked kicks. Additionally, Thimons was a threat on offense with four total touchdowns (1 rushing, 3 receiving).

Thimons helped lead Westminster to an 8-3 overall record this season and an 8-1 mark in the conference, en route to its second-straight PAC Title.

The AFCA's Division III All-America Selection Committee is made up of head coaches representing each conference from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee.
