Reentry Testing and Quiet Phase Thursday, January 14 through Thursday, January 21

Thank you, all, for your cooperation, questions, and feedback regarding our reentry testing procedures.   Pre-arrival testing is an important part of our safe reopening, providing us with a solid assessment of the health and well-being of our campus community. Students - If you have been tested off campus and are awaiting your results, thank you. Please post those results to the Student Health Portal as you receive them. To date, only a small percentage of students have submitted their pre-arrival COVID test results and a number of those are positive. Many more students are reporting difficulty getting testing and we understand this. This is why we are requiring on campus testing as well.

Because so few students have been able to access pre-arrival testing and will only have an on campus test, we believe it is in the campus community’s best interest to begin the semester in a Reentry Quiet Phase until all on campus test results have been received and processed. This Quiet phase will span Thursday, January 14, with the first round of move-in, through Thursday, January 21.  Regular activity resumes on Friday, January 22 so long as Pandemic Plan and associated policies are followed.

During the Reentry Quiet Phase, classes will meet in person and students may leave their rooms for in-facility dining, work/internships, and to study in the library.  Additionally, athletes who have undergone the NCAA required testing and are fully in season may engage in athletic activity. At this time, this applies only to men’s and women’s basketball and swim/dive.

If you have any questions about reentry testing or move-in, please contact Student Affairs at studentaff@westminster.edu . We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to campus!
