Rose Parade Alumni & Friends Gathering

Join alumni volunteer, Alex Stupakis ’74 and other Westminster College alumni, parents, and friends for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Premiere group seating has been reserved for our alumni at the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA.  Make plans to attend and be prepared to view the marvelous floats from our outstanding seats at 240 West Colorado Avenue.  

The parade is five miles in length and lasts for approximately 2 hours!

In addition to WC alumni and friend seating, we have arranged for an ‘evening-cap’ back at the SpringHill Suites in Burbank.  WC Alumni and Friends are encouraged to gather with one another at 7:30 p.m. in the Bar/Lounge area for snacks and appetizers provided by the WC Alumni Association.

A block of rooms is on hold at the SpringHill Suites Los Angeles, Burbank/Downtown.  Pre-negotiated price offerings include King Suites $189/per night and Queen Suites $199/per night.

Tour of Jet Propulsion Laboratory- December 31 at 9:30 a.m. for those who have preregistered with the office! 

For those who have preregistered with the Office, we have arranged a tour of JPL.  All attendees need to bring a passport or valid drivers license for access. It should contain the same name you gave our office at time of confirmation.  Cameras are permitted on the tour.  Guests should wear comfortable clothing and shoes and be prepared for weather.  The tour is inside and outside and involves a significant amount of walking.  Our group will meet 15 minutes prior to our tour time at the Visitor's Center.  Parking is free.  Give your name to the guard to enter the gated parking area.  

Bandfest | December 29 or December 30

Float Decorating | December 30 or 31

Those wishing to view float decorating in the days leading up the parade can purchase tickets through the ticket vendor directly by contacting them at 626-795-0896.

SOLD OUT as of 11/25/19 VIP Parade Hospitality Area on Parade Day | January 1  

The upgrade is no longer available. This option is SOLD OUT from the ticket vendor.  

Those wishing to experience the parade in a lap of luxury can do so by upgrading their ticket directly with the ticket vendor.  For an additional $150/pp guests will have access to a full service bar and catered breakfast buffet complete with omelet station, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and tea.  To take advantage of this option, contact them at 626.795.4171.

A Note about Transportation to the Parade

Transportation is at the discretion of each guest. We encourage you to allow for a significant amount of travel time when departing from the hotel for the parade. 

Transportation Options from Hotel to Parade

• Drive- although it’s only a 10-15 minute drive this is without traffic.  We strongly encourage at least a two hour window to reach a parking area and walk to your seat location.
• Taxi (approx.. $50)- the hotel’s front desk can help arrange a taxi for you and suggest at least a one hour advance notice to secure the taxi.
• Uber/Lyft (approx. $20, depending on traffic)-they will likely be bountiful during parade time.
• Metro Bus (approx. $9); 50 minute ride- take the Metro (Downtown Burbank Station), which is located behind the Residence Inn Los Angeles Burbank/Downtown (1-2 blocks from the SpringHill Suites) to Union Station and then transfer to the Gold Line to Pasadena.
