Student Receives Scholarship from The Pittsburgh Foundation
Sara Ergen, a Westminster College sophomore public relations major, received a $10,000 scholarship, payable over four years, from the George and Dorothy Knedler Scholarship Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation.

Westminster College Student Awarded Scholarship from The Pittsburgh Foundation
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College student Cassandra Ackerman recently received a scholarship through The Pittsburgh Foundation. The award will be applied to the student's tuition for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Fifty-one Westminster College students met the requirements for graduation in December.
Theatre Westminster Presents "Kiss Me, Kate"
Theater Westminster presents "Kiss Me, Kate" Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 10-14. Performances at Beeghly will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
"'Kiss Me, Kate' is a bright and brassy Cole Porter musical based on Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shew,'" said Scott Mackenzie, director and assistant professor of theatre at Westminster College. "The backstage feuding hides a love for the ages - one as great as Kate and Petruchio's, the characters they portray on stage."
"Kiss Me, Kate" features Fred and Lilly, a divorced pair of actors who are brought together while performing in "The Taming of the Shrew." The couple seems to act a great deal like the Shakespeare characters they portray. A fight on the opening night threatens the production, as well as two thugs who have the mistaken idea that Fred owes their boss money and insist on staying next to him all night.
The show features R. Tad Greig, director of bands at Westminster College, as the orchestra director; Gina Sharbaugh, assistant director of admissions, as the choreographer; Anne Bentz, assistant professor of music, and Chris Harper, part-time music faculty, as music directors; and Michael Slane, instructor of theatre, as scenic designer and technical director.
To reserve tickets, contact the Beeghly Box Office at (724) 946-7241 after Nov. 1. General public tickets are $8, while student and senior tickets are $6. Each Westminster College student can reserve a free ticket, and Westminster employees can reserve two free tickets.
