NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Westminster College vocalists Samantha Connell ’19 and Lauren Faber ’19 will perform at WaterFire Sharon on Saturday, Aug. 18.

As the fires are lit on the Shenango River at dusk, Connell and Faber will perform the famous duets “Dome Epais” from the opera Lakmé by Leo Delibes and “Belle Nuit” from The Tales of Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach. The singers will perform on a boat as it glides up and down the river.

Connell is a senior vocal performance major whose past credits include various roles with Opera Westminster, including her most recent portrayal of the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro. She was selected to sing this summer for Master Classes at the National Association of Teachers of Singing National Conference in Las Vegas. She is a native of Clayton, N.J.

Faber, a senior vocal performance and communication double major from Greenville, made her Opera Westminster debut as Anna, a young nun, in the 2015 world premiere of Katharina von Bora. She has performed in various other opera scenes in addition to the role of Cherubino in the full-scale production of The Marriage of Figaro. She has spent the last two summers studying abroad at the Opera Viva Festival in Verona, Italy, and this summer at the Summer Music in Hungary Vocal Program in Szeged, Hungary. She resides in Greenville.
