The Westminster College Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Bands will combine to present "A Senior Celebration" Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

"The Wind Ensemble is a select ensemble comprised of students who must audition for their placement," said R. Tad Greig, director of bands at Westminster College.  "This ensemble performs some of the most challenging literature written for bands."

The Wind Ensemble will perform works by Alfred Reed, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Morton Gould, and John Philip Sousa, and will feature Robert Antonucci, Westminster's tuba instructor, as guest soloist.

"The Symphonic Band is a large ensemble comprised of instrumentalist's campus wide, who share a love for band music," said Greig.  "We will perform works by Malcolm Arnold, John Paynter, John Philip Sousa, and Claude T. Smith.  We will also take time to honor our graduating seniors."

The event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Greig at (724) 946-7279 or e-mail greigrt@westminster.edu.
