Westminster’s Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble present concert

The Westminster College Symphonic Band and Percussion Ensemble will present “Pulse” in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, in Will W. Orr Auditorium on Westminster’s campus.

The Symphonic Band will perform six pieces throughout the concert. Such works will include “A Festival Prelude” by Alfred Reed, “Elegy for a Young American” by Ronald Lo Presti, “Shadow Falls” by Julie Giroux, selections from “Courtly Airs and Dances” by Ron Nelson, “Grace” by Brian Balmages and “Pulse” by Randall Standridge.

The band, which includes more than 40 students, is under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig, director of instrumental activities and professor of music.

The 10-person Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Perry Gatch III, will perform “Past Midnight” by Tom Gauger.
