Westminster CSI Class Solves "Campus Murder"

Members of the Westminster College Forensics/Detective Class recently solved the "campus murder" of Dr. Richard Sprow, professor of English and chair of the fictional "Faculty Misconduct Committee."

"This is the first time for this cluster class, a mixture of Detective Fiction English 107 and Forensic Science 150," said Dr. Deborah Mitchell, assistant professor of English and Public Relations at Westminster College.  "In addition to writing a creative story about the crime scene, the students had to use the elements of science to gather evidence."

Student Receives Grant for Undergraduate Research Presentation

The Westminster College Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning awarded an undergraduate research grant to Christopher Stone, a senior individual interdisciplinary and philosophy major, to present his research at the Midsouth Undergraduate Philosophy conference Feb. 22-23 at the University of Memphis, Tenn.

Michelle Johnston, a Westminster College senior biology major, received a travel/presentation grant from Westminster's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to present her honors research at the 30th annual Undergraduate Biology Symposium for Western Pennsylvania April 18 at Waynesburg University.
