Writer Gary Gildner to Speak at Westminster College
Westminster College's Bleasby Colloquium will host award-winning writer Gary Gildner for a reading of his work Monday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Planetarium to Present "The Constellations of Spring"
"The Constellations of Spring" will be presented at 8 p.m. April 30-May 2 and May 5 and 7 with an additional presentation May 2 at 6 p.m. in the Westminster College Planetarium, room 116 of the Hoyt Science Resources Center.

Dr. James Perkins, Westminster College professor of English emeritus, published four books over the past year.
Westminster Math Professor Grades AP Statistics
Dr. Carolyn Cuff, professor of mathematics at Westminster College, recently participated in the grading of over 66,000 of the College Board's Advanced Placement Examinations.
"During the course of one week, approximately 390,000 questions were scored by pairs of high school statistics teachers and college professors," Cuff said. "In the evening we participated in faculty development activities including a lecture on experimental design and discussions of classroom activities."
Cuff also helped to evaluate the mathematics program at Texas A&M, in Texarkana.
"I was invited by the faculty at Texas A&M to evaluate the current program that has been directed to grow downward," Cuff said. "I looked at this program in respect to its growth, an upcoming reaccredidation by the State University system, and the anticipated increase in the number of the faculty in the department. Then I gave my report to the dean."
She also attended the Joint Statistical Meetings in Toronto, where she served on joint committees of the American Statistical Association and the Mathematical Association of America.
Cuff, who has been with Westminster College since 1989, earned her undergraduate degree from Westminster College, and her master's and Ph.D. from Case Western University.

Westminster College Announces Spring Dean's List
More than 375 Westminster College students earned Dean's List recognition for the 2005 spring semester.
The Dean's List recognizes students who attain a grade point average of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0.
