Dr. Terri Lenox, Westminster College associate professor of computer science, recently presented at a workshop in New York and a conference in North Carolina.

Lenox was the presenter at "Building Scaffolds for Successful Capstone Experiences" workshop Oct. 20 at the State University of New York Potsdam.  The focus was how to develop a successful experience from a student's first year to graduation day and how to assess those experiences.

Lenox gave three presentations at the Information Systems Educators Conference (ISECON) Nov. 3-6 in Wilmington, N.C. 

Lenox and her husband, Dr. Charles Woratschek, hosted "Making the Most of ISECON and CONISAR," a panel for conference newcomers.  Woratschek is a professor of computer and information systems at Robert Morris University.

Her second presentation was "The Effects of Interruptions on Remembering Task Information," a paper co-authored with 2011 Westminster graduates Neil Pilaski and Lance Leathers and based on their capstone research.  Pilarski is enrolled in a master's degree program at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College and Leathers is working at Duquesne University.

Lenox, Woratschek, and Gayle Jesse presented a paper on "Factors Influencing Students' Decisions to Major in a Computer-Related Discipline."  Jesse is a mathematics and computer science lecturer at Thiel College.

Lenox, who serves as chair of Westminster's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, joined the faculty in 1999.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Grove City College and master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
