William McCullough, a Westminster College senior music performance major, will present his senior capstone recital Sunday, May 4, at 1:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
McCullough's tenor program includes Duparc's L'invitation au voyage; Debussy's Beau Soir; Barber's O Boundless, Boundless Evening; Strauss' Morgen; and features Robert Schumann's song cycle Dictherliebe.
McCullough, who studied with William Ambert, Westminster College adjunct music faculty, will be accompanied by Kathryn Miller, Westminster College organist.
McCullough was the winner of Westminster's first concerto and aria competition his freshman year, and winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Tri-State regional his sophomore year.
His Opera Westminster performances included the roles of Zuniga in Carmen, Gabriel von Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, and Barinkay in Der Zigeunerbaron, and he portrayed Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Theatre Westminster's production of Guys and Dolls.
While at Westminster, McCullough was a member of the Men's Chorus, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Symphonic Band, and Titan Marching Band, and a member of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity.
McCullough is a chorister at First Presbyterian Church and Cathedral of St. Columba in Youngstown, Ohio.
McCullough will attend the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University to pursue a master's in vocal performance.
McCullough is a son of William and Suzanne McCullough of DuBois and a graduate of DuBois Area High School.
